There is a rising tide of consensus that our industrial system of education, as originally engineered over a century ago, is no longer serving our children. The question we’re now wrestling with is, “How do I lead my school (and myself) through this kind of change?” Understanding the human dynamics of change enables you to lead change that is not only meaningful, but sustainable.
I started the Institute for the Future of Learning because I believe our education system needs to change in order to prepare our children for an unknowable future. I have worked with adults as a leadership coach and workshop facilitator for over two decades and have seen first hand how our 19th century system of education is not preparing our children to thrive as adults in the 21st century.
But, there is great work happening. There is a rising tide of consensus regarding the changes we need to see, and there is a growing tribe of people dedicating themselves to making it happen.
Every day I am humbled by their vision, courage and appetite for change. We are a small yet mighty non-profit and we look forward to working with you.
